It is warm and drippy outside, this last day of July 2026. I spent part of the day drowning Japanese beetles in soapy water, part of the day getting a crown put on a broken tooth, and I started some sourdough loaves after dinner. We had chili for dinner.
I am so excited, DD comes home from camp tomorrow! She has been gone the last five nights and I miss her. A good part of the week was very hot and I know she didn’t have air conditioning in her cabin. I hope she had fun.
Our garden is coming along nicely. I am excited to have sunflowers, pumpkins, and cucumbers this year. We haven’t planted those in years!
July was ok. I am happy to move on to August now. I hope you had a wonderful July and your August is even better!

Summertime! I am not the biggest fan, but now it is upon us. DD’s school let out back in May, so this is our third week of summer. We have been to the library and signed up for the summer reading program, DD has been doing lots of drawing and has had some screen time (limited by ME), and we have even been to a small fair with rides and games. Summer is starting out nicely!
It took me too long to plant my garden this year. I now have two gardens, DH worked up a new garden for me. I am using both. I am pretty much done planting. I would like to add some more basil and parsley to my old garden. That one is turning into an herb garden. What I have planted so far:
Garden 1:
Garden 2:
I am praying for this garden. I am so happy it is planted, but a tiny bit concerned for my tomato plants. I planted my tomatoes and peppers from seed again this year, as I always do (It saves money and I like to watch them grow!) However, I planted three weeks later than last year. Last year my pepper and tomato plants were AMAZING! This year I am worried for my tomatoes, peppers are ok.
I am off to work.
Have a fantastic Friday!

Hello All!
I have been avoiding my garden lately. It has been too hot and humid for me to dig into the weed problem. However, today was one of the most beautiful days we will have all year. I didn’t waste it. I spent a good portion of the day weeding my garden. And my body is FEELING it!
I am super excited for these pumpkin plants! I love watching them grow as we approach fall and Halloween. I was worried they wouldn’t do well because they are kind of close to a Maple tree. I hear that is bad.
This is the second year I have planted pole beans and I am loving them! Last year was the first time I tried them and they produced all summer. This year I did a better job with trellising them. I made two good-sized tee-pees for them to climb, thanks to a YouTube video I watched from The Farmer’s Almanac. Tee Pee for climbing Beans Video
Besides gardening, I also put the finishing touches on a Socktopus and started work on a new yellow and purple Socktopus. I will be listing a few new things shortly. I also have a loooooong list of things that need sewing for the upcoming craft fair at Coffee Break Fest in August. So, my aching gardening body is off to work on a few things before turning in for the night.
Have a wonderful night and great weekend!

What is going on in the house of giggleFritz? Sometimes I don’t even know. The latest and greatest news is, last week my husband and I found out I am pregnant. This was some VERY unexpected news because we were not trying to have more children (If I haven’t mentioned before, I have a 16 year old daughter, my husband’s step-daughter). But, lo and behold, here we are and we are very excited and awaiting our new peanut in October!
I have been trying to get ready for “It’s a Spring Thing” Craft Fair in Hartford, WI this Saturday. I try so hard to plan ahead for my craft fairs. I plan out my time in my “production” binder and pencil in everything that needs to be done. I could not pencil in morning sickness due to pregnancy. I have been very sick and tired since last Monday. Thank the Lord I have not had the throwing up kind of morning sickness. I am just so motion/car sick. I drop things, I lock doors that shouldn’t be locked, I leave other doors unlocked that my husband finds (he’s got my back!), and I am such a whiny thing in the evening constantly hunting for food to eat that I haven’t already had for the day. It’s terrible! I have managed to get a few things done for this Saturday, mostly Sock Monkeys and Socktopus guys.
Another new thing around our house is my daughter’s new bunny, Jacob. We had a sweet little bunny that passed away last June. Cleo was our friend and we still miss her to this day. My daughter has begged for a bunny for months and we kept telling her there really wasn’t time for a bunny, everyone is busy. A friend of hers at school had to get rid of her bunny and they were going to take it to the Humane Society. Did we want it? Daughter has the bunny now and must take care of it. I am not supposed to handle bunny poo pregnant. We will see how this goes. Jacob is a nice bunny, I’ll give him that!
I went to my old job at Stein Garden and Gifts and said hi to people yesterday and talked baby stuff for a little while. It was so nice to see everyone again! I know I will be back there soon with a bigger belly buying my plants for the balcony of our condo. I picked up some lettuce, basil, and snapdragon seeds while I was there. I am so excited for spring and all of the fun stuff coming up! I just need to get through this morning sickness first.
So, I am off to get a few more things done for my Saturday craft fair.
Have a Fascinating Wednesday!
Misse 😀
