June 12, 2026 – Summertime!!

Summertime! I am not the biggest fan, but now it is upon us. DD’s school let out back in May, so this is our third week of summer. We have been to the library and signed up for the summer reading program, DD has been doing lots of drawing and has had some screen time (limited by ME), and we have even been to a small fair with rides and games. Summer is starting out nicely!

Had to make some Blue Raspberry Lemonade Kool-Aid! Oh Yeah!

It took me too long to plant my garden this year. I now have two gardens, DH worked up a new garden for me. I am using both. I am pretty much done planting. I would like to add some more basil and parsley to my old garden. That one is turning into an herb garden. What I have planted so far:

Garden 1:

  • zinnias
  • pole beans
  • carrots
  • arugula
  • radishes
  • nasturtiums
  • Perennials: lovage, peppermint, oregano, chives, old onions that have now gone to seed, raspberries

Garden 2:

  • sunflowers
  • cucumbers
  • pumpkins
  • tomatoes
  • bell peppers

Garden 2 – New giggleFritz Garden!!

I am praying for this garden. I am so happy it is planted, but a tiny bit concerned for my tomato plants. I planted my tomatoes and peppers from seed again this year, as I always do (It saves money and I like to watch them grow!) However, I planted three weeks later than last year. Last year my pepper and tomato plants were AMAZING! This year I am worried for my tomatoes, peppers are ok.

I started these seeds for my garden this year

I am off to work.

Have a fantastic Friday!

March 31, 2026 – Last Day of March 2026

Hello! Just stopping by. My goal is to post on this blog at least once a month. I am really cutting it close!

March isn’t the greatest month, but a few good things happened. I started seeds for our garden. It’s kind of a pain because I don’t have a lot of room to work with. We live in a subdivision. I don’t have a potting shed, or any shed for that matter. I have a corner of our garage where all of my garden stuff sits. Mice die in that area where DD sets traps. But every year I drag my stuff out, plant tomato and bell pepper seeds and dream of fall when I will harvest and preserve yummy veggies for next winter. I love fall and pumpkins, and crunchy leaves, and Halloween, and cool weather, and…… oh, yeah. My garden! Starting my garden makes life less dreary in March in Wisconsin.

Starting our Garden for 2026

I am still working as the hot lunch coordinator at DD2’s school. Right now it is Tuesday of our week off for Spring Break. I am counting down the days until summer. I really prefer to work alone and be at home. I am overwhelmed with all of the social aspects of the job. I want to get back to making things with my hands that aren’t food. I will hang in there until the end of May. I will be grateful for summer break, even if it is hot!

Have a great Tuesday!
