Post Stoughton Coffee Break Fest 2018

Good Morning!

Last weekend I packed up the giggleFritz and Co. booth, grabbed two sisters, and headed over to the Coffee Break Fest craft fair in Stoughton, WI. This is our fourth year participating in the craft fair. We had a great time and sold a lot of stuff!

The day went by very quickly! We didn’t even head over to the car show this year. However, we did HEAR the car show. I don’t know how they judge the old cars, but there must be an “engine revving” category. Boy was that loud! One of these years I would love to attend this festival as a guest and look at all the old and new cars, tractors, and motorcycles.

We sampled some wonderful coffee! (I will add a pic of this years taste testing cup at a later time.) Autumn Pearl Beauty Boutique and Coffee Bar was the winner this year. They had amazing coffee! It’s difficult to pick which is the best.

It was another great year at this amazing coffee festival! This is a great community. The people working the festival, the other booth vendors, and the festival-goers are wonderful people. If you get a chance to visit, go. I guarantee you will feel at home and welcomed!

I am off to do important giggleFritz things.  Have a wonderful day!

Easy Easter Peep Cake

Easy Peep Cake
Easy Peep Cake

Here it is: My Easter Peep Cake! Sweet, very simple, inspired by others on Pinterest.   I baked a banana cake from scratch, which tasted ok.  I made the cake part about a week early to save some time for other food prep the day before Easter.  I pulled out the frozen cake layers from the freezer the day before Easter to thaw. Homemade cream cheese frosting was whipped up three days before Easter, and the cake was frosted Easter morning.  I used nearly two boxes of green bunny Peeps and three Cadbury milk chocolate mini eggs for a little decoration.

There really is a difference between a homemade and a box mix cake.  My homemade cake was a much denser cake and I think that effected the flavor as well.  You can use a box mix and a can of frosting if you wish.  I went with the homemade cake because I felt like making something with bananas for my husband.  Anyway, I like Peeps and I enjoyed making this cake.

Tomorrow, I am attending a spring craft fair, Spring Fair to Remember in West Bend, WI.  I have had a booth at these shows a few times.  I am excited to see both what and who is new and how the seasoned craft fair vendors are doing.  I always keep an eye out for both crafting ideas and booth set up and display ideas as well.  I am not planning on participating in a craft fair anytime soon, but it never hurts to have a few ideas handy for later.

Have a beautiful weekend!

My Semi-Yuppy Weekend

Over the weekend I went out with my sister to try and find a store where she can sell her candles.  Her Candle Company is My Favorite Candles.  We went to Port Washington and Cedarburg (both in Wisconsin).  I don’t get out to those neat gift shops, antique stores, and coffee/tea houses often.  I am either too busy or just like being at home with family or baking etc.  Anyway, it was so inspiring!  Port Washington is right on Lake Michigan.  When I come over the hill on Hwy 33 and see the water, I automatically get all excited.  We visited several shops and picked up a Raspberry blended tea at a place called “Baltica Tea Room and Gift Shop”.  We should have stayed for homemade soup, but had to still make it over to Cedarburg.

In Cedarburg Winterfest was going on.  The Settlement was packed with people.  The local businesses had artists out in front of their buildings carving ice sculptures.  Curious spectators crowded around to see what objects would unfold.

Inside the beautiful old buildings of The Settlement people were browsing and shopping for something special.  The Cream and Crepe Café was crowded and it was no wonder from the mouth-watering fragrances that greeted you at the door.  We browsed the gift shops and antique stores and ended up at the Cedar Creek Winery.  I bought three bottles of sweet wine and it was time to go.

Did we find a place to sell my sister’s candles? No.  Was it a waste of time? NO!  Nice people, great tea, antiques, and I bought wine!  It was a wonderful weekend!  I need more semi-yuppy weekends!

For now, back to work!

Happy Monday! 😀
